What to do in Villnöss and the surrounding area?
Activities
We promise you: Your holiday in Villnöss will be uniquely beautiful! There are so many great things to discover and enjoy, no matter what time of the year! To get you started, we’ve put together a few tips for you. You will then find extensive information and maps on site.
Winter sport
Villnöss may only have one small ski lift, but it offers all the more variety! There are countless natural toboggan runs several kilometres long, touring opportunities for skiers and snowshoe hikers, cross-country ski trails and also an ice rink for skaters.
Many large ski areas are not far away:
Brixen ca. 15 km, Ski area Plose
Gröden ca. 25 km, ValGardena / Seiser Alm / Sella Ronda
Hiking & climbing
Just a little walk or a real ascent to the summit? With us everything is within reach. You will find a variety of tour suggestions for all levels of difficulty in our tour books upon arrival.
For climbing freaks and those who want to become one, there is a child-friendly climbing garden directly below the Furchetta north face with around 50 routes of difficulty 3 to 8a UIAA. Another option is offered at the Würzjoch/Passo delle Erbe, where there is also a climbing garden.
And if the weather doesn’t play along, there is a really great climbing and bouldering hall in Brixen/Bressanone.
Mountain biking & cycling
Whether conquering passes with a racing bike or exploring paths with a mountain bike, there are no limits to the choice here either. You will find tour suggestions in our tour books upon arrival.
We have a charging station for your e-bikes right next to the house and of course there is also a secure parking space.
Kids outside
Villnöss is a paradise for children. You can visit animals on the surrounding farms, build dams in the mountain streams and, depending on your age, test the high ropes course or on the Woody Walk Experience nature in a playful way on a walk on the Plose. And the best way to return home is as a real one Dolomiti Ranger back with certificate.
For very rainy days we have a small library in the house where the little ones can find games and books.
Swimming & bathing
There are beautiful outdoor pools in Klausen, Feldthurns and Brixen. The Brixen Aquareana also offers indoor paddling fun for young and old. But nothing beats the wonderful natural swimming pond in the small community of Lüsen with its clear water and beautifully landscaped lawns.
Eat & Drink
South Tyrol is a land of enjoyment. Slow food enthusiast Oskar Messner runs the “Pitzock”, a small top restaurant in the center of St.Peter, which is absolutely recommendable. In addition to South Tyrolean cuisine, “Viel Nois” has the best ice cream in the area. And in the huts of the Zanser Alm or along the road to Würzjoch there are many fantastic offers of local delicacies. Watch the local cheese, which you can watch on site as it ripens.
The “Villnösser Brillenschaf” is now known far beyond the municipal boundaries. Its fine-grained meat is celebrated especially during the “Lamb Weeks” at the beginning of October. It is served in many restaurants in the valley .
Cities and museums
Medieval Klausen with the Säben monastery, the cathedral city of Brixen and the lively Bolzano with the world-famous Ötzi museum – everything is just a few kilometers away. Enjoy a stroll through the city if your legs hurt from hiking or if the weather does not invite you into the mountains.
